We want to be a true "temple" that prays for people, faces their suffering, and is needed now and in the future.
Kanzaki-dera Temple is one of the few Shingon Daigo-ha temples in the Kanto region.
With its head temple Daigoji Temple in Kyoto, the Daigoha School of Shingon Buddhism emphasizes prayer and training within the Shingon sect and carries on the traditions of Tozan Shugendo.
Kanzaki Daishi, also known as Kanzaki Temple, which regards Kanzaki-san "Mt. Dainichi" as its sacred mountain, is a temple that never neglects its training, with Acala as its principal deity, and is always close to people, always listening to their concerns, burning goma fires in response to their prayers, and aiming to be a temple that people need, looking to the future, providing the best funerals, ancestral memorial services, and atonement rituals such as water burials.
Guide to Kanzaki Daishi
Prayer
In order to help those who are stuck in worries, anxiety, suffering, and the pain of this world to connect with Kanzakidera, we offer not only prayers and funerals, but also life consultations, copying sutras, Zen meditation, fortune telling and palm reading, pilgrimages to sacred places, and spiritual care. We also encourage you to participate in monthly training such as cleaning the temple grounds.
Unfortunately, our "life" as we live in this world is not always good. Since ancient times, Kanzaki Daishi has prayed to Acala to exorcise people's "misfortunes" through prayer and training. At the beginning of the year, we pray to the god of the mountains to ward off evil spirits, and at Setsubun, we pray to the god of the mountains to ward off evil spirits. Through training and prayer, we will hone your spirituality.
Funeral and memorial service
Funerals are important ceremonies, just like the initiation rites of esoteric Buddhism. In today's world, where many funerals end with the chanting of sutras, we provide a proper final rite. We also believe that memorial services and memorial services should be valued. We hope that people will return to the basics, that their existence is due to their ancestors, and practice gratitude.

The Significance of Tsukimairi
People want to take it easy if possible, they want as much money as possible, and they think it's the best if they can get their way. Even if that's not the case, it's natural to succumb to worldly desires. That's why faith is necessary. Faith can only grow from practice. That's why it's necessary to visit the shrine on a set day in order to put your sincerity into practice.
Kanzakidera is by no means a large temple. That is why we can offer individual prayers for each person's wishes. You can have a goma prayer just for you in the way that is most comfortable for you. The hall is available for private use, so you can receive a real goma prayer with your friends and family, with coworkers, with your sports friends, with like-minded people, or even by yourself.
Corporate manager or person in charge
Why not try a group prayer with all the employees of your company? After Setsubun, you can hold a large goma prayer for business prosperity in a private environment at each office or department to strengthen the unity of the members who work together.
Pray individually or with friends
It is becoming a tradition for fellow business managers to come and perform goma prayers to pray for the prosperity of their businesses.
Some people pray regularly with their families or parents and children, and I also do individual goma for requests for recordings on TV programs. Singers, idols, and VTubers have all had their wishes fulfilled or been promoted by praying while training in the intense flames of goma. Why not give it a try yourself?
Our temple does not have a parishioner system. Anyone can request a funeral.
Both funerals and memorial services should be heartfelt ceremonies of gratitude to those who we had a connection with and were kind to us during their lifetime.
We work hard every day to ensure that this once-in-a-lifetime ceremony is carried out carefully and that the funeral brings peace of mind to the bereaved family.
We also receive consultations from people who have a family temple far away or are estranged from their family, as well as from families who have no family temple at all. We also provide funeral consultations during your lifetime, so please contact us first.
The role of a temple is to be a spiritual anchor and guide so that people living in this world can live better. This world is a difficult place to live in, and it is indeed a world of "suffering." We have opened a consultation desk to help people face their suffering. If necessary, we may connect you to another specialist. Everyone, if you come to the temple when you are in pain, you will get better and be able to pray with a smile on your face. First, please try consulting us.
Consult the fair

However, Shikoku is a remote area from the Kanto region, making it difficult to grant such wishes. That is why the Kanto 88 Temple Pilgrimage was established with the sand of the Shikoku Pilgrimage and the connection to the Shikoku Pilgrimage. The once-monthly pilgrimage, where the monk Kanzaki-ji Temple guides the famous temples of the sacred sites, named the "Eastern Pilgrimage," is a very special day, where friends can learn and practice Buddhism as well as enjoy delicious meals and snacks from each region. It is a very enjoyable pilgrimage, so it is a day to easily escape from your daily life. Anyone can participate, so please contact us by phone, email, or LINE.

Led by the head of Kanzaki Temple, Yusen, this is a half-day pilgrimage to the 88 temples of Edo, where participants meet and disband on site. Participants casually visit temples in Tokyo in casual attire. However, participants will be required to recite sutras during the pilgrimage, so they will naturally improve their chanting skills. As this is a casual pilgrimage, anyone can feel free to join us, even if they are busy with work, childcare, or elderly care.
If you have any questions or inquiries about the pilgrimage, please feel free to contact us by phone, email, or official LINE.
We understand that first-time applicants may be anxious, but please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We hope you will have a fun and fulfilling pilgrimage trip.

learning
At Kanzakidera Temple, we provide a place of learning to help you deepen your understanding of Buddhism, esoteric Buddhism, and even the Japanese religion of Shugendo, and to assist you in your faith.
Even if you are interested in temples and Buddhism, you may not know which temple to go to, or what you should look for in a temple. For those who have only ever attended funerals and memorial services, going to a temple may take courage. For such people, "learning" can be the gateway to the temple. We hold casual copying of sutras and Buddhist courses outside of temples, so it may be easy for you to participate. Please come and join us.

Shugendo
Kanzaki-dera, a temple of the Daigo school of Shingon Buddhism, is also a training dojo for Tozan Shugendo. Shugendo, which is a lay practice, practices Buddhist training while remaining a layperson. Those who are granted permission to enter the temple are given the Keiin school of Buddhism and train in the Keiin Shichidanho at the Keiindo Hall with the aim of becoming Shugendo monks.
Recommendation for Gezagyo (lower rank)
"Sagegyo" is also another name for "cleaning."
This is the most important training for a monk, and it involves calmly performing tasks that are less important than those of others, not complaining, and instead making those who visit the pure temple grounds feel happy and reaching a state of mind where you can find joy in altruism.
Esoteric Shingon Buddhism
We will guide those who have dedicated their lives to Buddhism, left their homes and are destined to become priests, on the path to becoming a Shingon monk. Only those who have a connection to the priesthood are allowed to do so, so please consult with us first.
