Year-end Mochi-making Competition
December 30th 9:00~
We will hold a New Year's party in the shrine grounds, pounding rice cakes.
Recently, it has become difficult for children to make rice cakes themselves, and many children think that rice cakes are something you buy at a store.
One of the roles of the temple is to be a leader who conveys traditional customs. We make mochi using a complicated method, prepare mochi to be offered to the gods and Buddhas of Kanzaki Temple, and bring offerings from the homes of all the participants. I'll have you go home.
The mochi-pounding continues from morning until evening, so people eat mochi in the soup of the hotpot, or eat mochi with kinako mochi, bean paste mochi, karami mochi, and other types of mochi, and drink alcohol while having a BBQ. It's a year-end event where both adults and children can enjoy drinking.
Please finish your spring cleaning early and come join us for some end-of-year fun at the temple.
