First Goma Ceremony of the New Year
As the New Year arrives, people visit the shrine to offer their respects to Fudo Myo-o, who always protects them.
We offer our wholehearted prayers to Fudo Myo-o for the new year, so that we may move forward with our dreams, full of hope and expectations for the new year.
Please take home some of the talismans for your family's safety, road safety, warding off misfortune and bringing good luck, and prayer talismans for various wishes to enshrine in your home, and enshrine the power of our temple's great goma ritual in your home.
New Year's Day Great Homa
January 1st, 13:00
On New Year's Day, a large goma offering will be held for just one person. A huge pillar of fire unique to this temple will rise, and visitors will be able to enter a Dharma realm created by conch shells, drums, and mantras, helping to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune into the new year. Visitors will then throw the goma sticks they have written with their wishes into the goma fire themselves and make their prayers.
New Year's Day 2nd and 3rd
10:00, 11:30, 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm
To allow people to visit the goma during the first three days of the New Year, three goma ceremonies will be held on the 2nd and 3rd. Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes early to allow time to fill out the application and goma sticks. Once visitors have written their wishes on the goma sticks, they will throw them into the goma and make their wish.
If you apply in advance, there will be no congestion on the day of your prayer.
